Dr. Lisa Winstead an Associate Professor and Spanish Bilingual Authorization Coordinator for the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education. Her research encompasses issues related to education and culture, e.g., bilingual and dual immersion teacher preparation, second language acquisition, social justice issues, and overcoming cultural misunderstandings. Publications include the Handbook of Research on Foreign Language Education in the Digital Age as well as articles that can be found in journals, e.g., Equity and Excellence in Education, Journal of Latinos in Education, and Multicultural Education.
